Your Biosecurity Command Centre
The Biosecurity Dashboard provides complete visibility into your facility's biosecurity status at a glance. Risk levels, active zones, quarantine status, protocol compliance, and recent biosecurity activity all appear in one view.
No hunting through multiple pages or reports. Everything critical appears on a single, comprehensive dashboard.
Think of it as your biosecurity mission control. The first place to check each morning. The central hub for monitoring ongoing biosecurity situations.
What the Dashboard Shows
The Biosecurity Dashboard aggregates data from multiple biosecurity features into six key sections.
Risk Overview: Current facility-wide risk level, compliance score, and assessment status.
Active Zones: Biosecurity zones currently active with security level indicators.
Protocol Status: All biosecurity protocols showing due dates and overdue alerts.
Quarantine Status: Animals currently in quarantine and upcoming release dates.
Recent Activity: Timeline of recent biosecurity events (visitors, health checks, protocol executions).
Compliance Tracker: Items requiring attention (expiring certificates, overdue protocols, incomplete logs).
Each section provides actionable information. Not just data, but insights driving biosecurity decisions.
Risk Overview
The Risk Overview section answers: "How safe is my facility right now?"
Current Risk Level displays facility-wide biosecurity risk classification:
- Low (Green): Minimal biosecurity concerns, standard protocols sufficient
- Medium (Amber): Moderate risk present, enhanced protocols recommended
- High (Red): Significant risk requiring intensive management
- Critical (Dark Red): Emergency response required, maximum biosecurity protocols active
The system calculates risk level from multiple factors: active quarantines, recent disease diagnoses, visitor exposures, biosecurity zone status, and protocol compliance. Risk level updates automatically as biosecurity conditions change.
Compliance Score (0 to 100 per cent) shows how well biosecurity protocols are being followed:
- 90 to 100 per cent: Excellent compliance, all protocols executed on schedule
- 70 to 89 per cent: Good compliance, minor delays acceptable
- 50 to 69 per cent: Fair compliance, improvement needed
- Below 50 per cent: Poor compliance, urgent attention required
The system calculates compliance score from: on-time protocol execution, visitor log completeness, health check adherence, zone access compliance, and certificate validity. Low compliance scores trigger alerts for management review.
Assessment Status shows when biosecurity was last assessed and when next review is due:
- "Last Assessment: 15 days ago"
- "Next Review Due: 45 days"
- "Review Overdue by 7 days" (if assessment lapsed)
Regular assessments ensure biosecurity systems remain current and effective.
Example Risk Overview:
Current Risk Level: Medium (Amber)
Compliance Score: 82% (Good)
Last Assessment: 22 days ago
Next Review Due: In 38 days
Status: On track, 1 quarantine active, 2 protocols overdue
This snapshot tells you immediately whether facility biosecurity is under control or requires urgent attention.
Active Zones Display
Biosecurity zones (detailed in Chapter 9.4) appear on the dashboard showing which zones are currently active and their security status.
Zone summaries include:

- Number of animals currently in each zone
- Number of protocols required for zone entry
- Recent biosecurity events in the zone (past 30 days)
- Zone activation status (active or inactive)
Colour coding matches map visualisation:
- Green: Public zones (minimal restrictions)
- Yellow or Amber: Restricted zones (enhanced protocols)
- Red: Quarantine zones (strict isolation)
- Dark Red: High Security zones (maximum protocols)
- Purple: Emergency zones (active outbreak response)
Example zone display:

Dashboard Customisation
Different users need different biosecurity visibility.
Farm managers prioritise compliance tracking and overdue protocols.
Veterinarians focus on quarantine status and recent disease events.
Biosecurity officers monitor risk overview and zone status.
Administrative staff track visitor logs and certificate expirations.
While Kora's flexible approach means the dashboard shows all sections by default, users can focus on sections most relevant to their role.
Best Practices for Dashboard Use
Daily dashboard review: Check dashboard each morning identifying urgent items requiring immediate attention.
Monitor trends: Watch risk level changes over time. Gradual risk increase suggests systemic issues needing investigation.
Prioritise overdue items: Address Critical and Urgent compliance items before Normal priority tasks.
Investigate activity patterns: Unusual activity spikes warrant deeper investigation. Multiple visitor logs, frequent quarantine initiations, or repeated protocol violations.
Use dashboard for reporting: When regulatory inspectors ask "Show me your biosecurity status", open the dashboard. Everything documented in one view.
Act on alerts: Dashboard alerts exist to drive action. "3 days overdue" means stop and execute that protocol today, not tomorrow.
Integration with Other Features
The Biosecurity Dashboard aggregates data from across Kora.
Quarantine data comes from Quarantine Management (11.2).
Visitor logs come from Visitor Management (11.4).
Protocol status comes from Biosecurity Protocols (11.5).
Recent events come from health observations (10.1), movements (7.3), and biosecurity events.
Zone status comes from Biosecurity Zone Mapping (9.4).
Compliance items come from health certificates (12.3), movement compliance (12.4), and feed safety tracking.
The dashboard does not create data. It visualises existing biosecurity activities in unified, actionable format.
